Investigation Nearing an End
Players interested in the Absolute Poker online casino gambling scandal now have
a date that they can expect the investigation to be completed. And though the
finalized report will go directly to the Kahnawake Gaming Commission before the
final results are released to the public, the Commission did release a new
report just last week with further updates on the investigation.
The Absolute Poker scandal has made national news because it is the largest
scale cheat in the history of the online casinos industry. An insider within the
company managed to manipulate the system in a way that he could rig player hands
at the poker tables and push the results of the poker game into his favor. The
company estimates roughly 800,000 in cheated monies and has already over
compensated players who were negatively affected by the cheating scandal.
The Commission hired Gaming Associates, an outside testing firm to investigate
the issue at the online casino poker site. Gaming Associates has announced that
the investigation is now completed, and the company is now drafting the final
investigation report that will be submitted to the Gaming Commission so that the
Commission can make an informed decision on further action in the case. Gaming
Associates affirmed that the Commission would have the report by December 7. And
in the Commission’s update report to the public about the online casinos
cheating scandal, the Commission noted that it would then not comment on the
case again until it had made a decision.
The report notes that "to avoid the possibility of jeopardizing its
investigation, the Commission will not comment on this matter until such time as
it has reached a decision. The Commission expects to receive a final copy of the
audit report by December 7, 2007." And though its anticipated that the
Commission will act quickly in the case, online casinos players may have to wait
into the new year before the final decision is made.
