Players Disheartened at Poker Site
PokerStars.com is a popular online casino gambling site known for its innovative
games and high stakes poker tournaments. And like most internet gambling sites,
PokerStars allows players multiple options for depositing and withdrawing funds
from the site. Those options just got more limited though, and the new
restrictions on acceptable payment methods could affect some players who gamble
at the online casinos from countries that do not legally allow internet
gambling.
Two payment options, the payTru Visa Debit card and FirePay are no longer
options for PokerStars players. Notices went out in early December to notify
players that they would not longer be able to make purchases with the payTru
cards at the online casino as of December 10, 2007. FirePay notified players via
email that it would also stop allowing players to use the company for depositing
and purchasing after December 10, 2007.
Now though this is alarming for many online casinos players, both companies have
outlined specific dates and options for players to recover funds from their
accounts. The real alarm for players is not that they may lose their funds, but
rather the fact that their options are sliming down on payment processors.
The online casinos industry is currently changing rapidly and many countries are
still ambiguous about the specific limitations and restrictions concerning
internet gambling transactions. That is one reason that payment processors
choose to discontinue services to internet gambling companies and their players.
PokerStars accepts several other payment methods, all outlined on the online
poker site. And players can go directly to the FirePay and payTru Web sites for
more information on how and when to withdraw their funds.
