AIM Listing Brings in Profits

WorldSpreads listed just two weeks back on the London AIM in hopes of raising additional funds that the company could then use for expansion purposes. The online casino, betting, and gambling sector as a whole is extremely competitive, but even without that consideration the company has reported stellar results from the AIM listing. Just like online casinos, “the spread-betting sector is growing rapidly” comments Conor Foley, the CEO and Co-Founder at WorldSpreads.

WorldSpreads has grown exponentially since the company began in 2000 based out of Dublin, Ireland. As the spread-betting industry grew and flourished in the UK and other countries, WorldSpreads later opened an office in London. The UK has nurtured online casinos and other gambling companies with lenient regulations and other incentives. Though the UK’s gambling and online casino gambling policy is changing next month
(September), companies like WorldSpreads and other betting companies are still welcome, they are just conforming to stricter guidelines.

But as for the AIM listing of WorldSpreads, the company can only be pleased with the results. Company shares placed at 47p per share and at this point have raised GBP 5.77 million to go to the company’s plans for expansion and new services and features. In other great news, now that WorldSpreads has turned over financial information and is trading on the AIM, the online casino spread-betting company has been valued at GBP 19 million.

The additional income is earmarked for expansion plans even though WorldSpreads does currently have partnerships all over the world in places like: Spain, Hungary, and South Africa. Foley expanded on where WorldSpreads is heading, he says, Having put in place the infrastructure in Dublin and London, we believe that the increased profile and additional funding our listing on AIM brings will provide an opportunity for us to grow a substantial business.”
