No More Online Gambling for Women

Traditionally in the world of gaming, men prefer playing poker, while women are content to play slot machines.  But with technology comes change.  Now it seems that rather than just complacently playing slots at online casinos, women are more and more turning to online poker gaming and other online software that uses a higher skill set than merely pushing a button and waiting solely on chance as is often the case with slots.

eCOGRA is the online casino gaming industry standards authority, and according to a recent study they released, more and more women in the last few years are turning to the game of poker—and with the way technology has evolved the online gaming industry, online casino poker is more prevalent than a land-based table-gaming for women.  eCOGRA’s  study found that over the course of just two years the percentage of women playing online casino poker doubled, growing from 15 percent to 30 percent.

But the study didn’t stop there.  It seems that women are also interested in more than just online casino gambling.  Now, more and more, women are integrating themselves in to the largely male dominated internet casino gambling industry.

The change is dramatic, over the last few years there has been a noticeable shift in the number of women in the corporate side holding powerful positions within the online casino industry.  When eCOGRA researched the shift in leadership, they found that the number of women has also doubled in just a few short years.  So it seems that has the  online gambling industry develops, the men can expect women to move away from the actual online casinos, and into the corporate business side.
