Is a Repeal Coming Soon for the U.S.?
The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act certainly has some supporters in
the government, after all the act did pass, and the government is enforcing
their anti-online casino gambling law. But it seems that there are some in the
government who agree with the majority of U.S. citizens who frequent the online
casinos: the UIGEA needs to be repealed immediately to ensure each citizens
Constitutional right to pursue online gambling if they so choose.
Currently, the UIGEA’s most out-spoken government support comes from Congressman
Barney Frank. Congressman Frank has expressed his concern that the Act may not
have been legitimately passed through the system before approval.
Congressman Frank’s current efforts rest in mobilizing the U.S. citizens who
feel strongly about this ban on online casino gambling to speak out to their
politicians, and to their government to express their dissatisfaction over the
way the government is handling this issue.
Congressman Frank also has the support of the online casino gambling community,
and the gambling blogging community. Right now, the bloggers are spreading the
word that is it important that they send a letter with their opinion about the
act to policy makers. Additionally, the online casinos players should sign the
petition organized as a way to show the overwhelming support this repeal request
has (sign the petition at:

If Congressman Frank wins his request, the Ban on processing transactions from
online casino Web sites could be lifted within just two weeks—which would be
fantastic news for those gamblers who are waiting for this all to blow over
before they go back to gambling at online casinos.
