Another Country Legalizing Online Casinos
The South African government looks as though they will be regulating the online
casino gambling industry in the country as soon as next year. Because the
internet gambling industry seems to be spreading uncontrollably across the
world, the South African government is taking the stance that at least if they
pass legislation legalizing online casinos, then the government can regulate the
industry within its borders.
According to the South Africa Herald, “Having learnt from the United States that
outlawing online gambling and online poker does little to solve the problem, the
government is now on course to legalise online casinos.”
South Africa though is not the first county to realize that perhaps legalization
and then regulation is a better way to control online casinos rather than a
complete ban as the United States has done. Other countries to begin online
casino gambling legislation include: Italy, Singapore, Spain, Poland, and United
Kingdom
In addition to the online casinos, South Africa will focus legislation on the
online poker industry as well.
