Extra Interest in Online Casino Companies
In the coming months the United States government will make a firm decision on
online casino gambling in the U.S. Though the Unlawful Internet Gambling
Enforcement Act (UIGEA) is supposedly their take on eliminating online casinos,
the last six months have shown how the parameters of the act make enforcement
difficult.
So, as the government (and more recently with the help of the FBI) looks into
the world of online casinos and even virtual gaming that involves any sort of
payouts, the debate rages about whether the UIGEA should stay or be abandoned.
Just last month the World Trade Organization ruled that the United States ought
to reconsider how the act affects other countries in the world. Some even
question the constitutionality of the act.
But it might just be the land-based casinos that save the online casino gambling
industry in the United States. Historically, over the past years, online casinos
operate independently of the land-based casinos. But some of the major
land-based casinos are looking at how expanding to the internet and getting a
foothold there could boost their share of the global casino gambling industry.
Many of the major companies owning casinos on the Vegas Strip, Macau, and other
places may just start a fight with the government over the online casino
gambling debate.
Industry leaders are predicting that the online casinos will have an answer in
the coming three months regarding how far he U.S. government will go to ban
online casino gambling.
