Players at Online Casino Confused

As more and more online casino Web sites back out of the United States, players are left shuffling around their e-wallet accounts, and they are constantly searching for the few sites that still accept U.S. players. But recently the PlaySafe Holdings AS, not only withdrew its online casinos from the United States, but all accounts from the U.S. Web sites were transferred to a new company.

The transferring of player accounts from the three affected online casinos, Breakaway, Connect2Casino, and Sci-Fi-Casino was not an illegal activity in and of itself, but the players found fault with the lack of proper notification, and choice. Even more frustrating for these players is the fact that the new company operates on a completely different platform than the previous online casino Web sites.

The only communication that notified players of the change was an email sent to all U.S. players with an account registered with any of the affiliated sites. The email cited the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act as a main reason for the recent changes within Playsafe. Highlights from the email include: "Fortunately, an agreement has been made to transfer your account to Pantasia… Pantasia has arranged for the secure transfer of your account information from the aforementioned casinos. Your data remains completely safe, and you can access your casino account by logging in to Pantasia with your account xxxxxxxx and your existing password."

The main issue players are expressing is the lack of communication between the Norwegian company, Playsafe Holdings and their loyal players. The three Web sites affected are trusted among gamblers in the online casino industry, and their recent questionable actions could lead to negative feedback in the short term. Players are demanding to know why their privacy is not considered in the information transfer.

The statement from Pantasia did little to alleviate the players concerns: "As far as I know, those casinos left the US market and transferred their player database to Pantasia. I understand your unease, but rest assured it is a common enough transaction these days and that your information is secure on the Rival servers. No banking details (credit card, bank account, NETeller, etc.) were transferred. Aside from this transaction, there is no connection/affiliation between those casinos and Pantasia."
