Recognition for Outstanding Betting Company

Betfair just announced more of the company’s growth figures, and not surprisingly to some in the online casinos industry, the results are right on target and indicate significant growth and success for Betfair. Right now, many online casino and betting companies are struggling to recover from the withdrawal of the United States from the international internet gambling industry. Offshore gambling companies were forced to cease all online gambling activities, and this dealt a significant blow to profits. Many online casinos struggled to rebuild a player base in a new market. Betfair though was one of the few companies without any U.S. players – and as such was not touched by the U.S.’s offshore gambling ban.

So as some online casino companies are working to find a place in new markets, Betfiar has used this past year to solidify current internet bettors and move into new markets while maintaining a strong base of operations in the UK, Australia, Austria, and Germany. The company’s recent report highlighted that Betfair now has over 1 million registered online casino bettors, and that the number of active numbers increased to 443,300 as of April 2007.

Revenue related figures were also on the rise, and though a GBP 12 million one-off investment contributed to a fall in Betfair’s pre-tax profits, the company predicts a quick rebound. And as for Betfair’s plans to expand in the online casinos betting industry, the recently released report indicates a shift in focus from the UK market to newer and emerging markets such as Italy.

And to top off the great report results, Betfair took home a prestigious award at the third annual eGaming Awards at the National History Museum in London. The event focused on online casino and betting companies of all sizes and included awards ranging from the Best Innovation of the Year (SkyBet) to the Socially Responsible Operator of the Year (Svenske Spel). And though the competition was certainly tough with other popular online casinos betting operators, Betfair took home the Operator of the Year Award.
