Online Casinos Regulations Bill Gains Support Politicians and Congressmen who previously supported the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) are switching loyalties left and right after hearing Barney Frank’s presentation on Bill HR2046, known to the online casino industry and media as the Internet Gambling Regulation and Enforcement Act (IGREA). Last week’s presentation to Congress marked the first real event in Frank’s campaign for support before taking the online casinos regulation bill to the House.
Before the hearing Frank had 19 influential supporters for IGREA, and since that time Frank’s press aide Steve Adamske announced that three more Congressmen voiced open support for regulating and licensing the online casinos industry. Now the list is at 22 influential supporters; not enough to go to the house yet with the online casinos regulation bill, but definitely a step in the right direction
Other’s on the list include those who previously supported the UIGEA, but now see that IGREA is a more practical policy for the United States in terms of the global online casinos industry and the wishes of Americans. For those Americans who strongly believe in bringing back online casinos in the U.S. they can contact their state representatives and encourage that they support HR2046.
Below is the complete list of the 22 politicians and Congressmen and women who support regulating the online casinos industry through IGREA:
Gary L. Ackerman Howard L. Berman Julia Carson Joseph Crowley Bob Filner Luis V. Gutierrez Peter T. King Jim McDermott James McGovern Charlie Melancon Ed Perlmutter Linda T Sanchez Melvin L. Watt Shelly Berkley Michael Capuano Wm. Lacy Clay Steve Israel Carolyn McCarthy Ron Paul [TX-14] Ciro D. Rodriguez Edolphus Towns Robert Wexler
