Specialized Interactive Management Courses As the online casino industry grows and changes steadily, more and more students are finding that casino management is a viable career path. And though the climate in the United States is leaning to severe restrictions at online casinos that focus on American gamblers, a few U.S. based Universities offer a specialized degree that really prepares students for a career in the internet gambling industry. And now, the University of Southern Mississippi has gone one step further with an interactive classroom that enables real-time lessons with leading industry professionals.
Most recently, majors in the online casino management course had first-hand experience with the new wave of interactive education. Mike Cray is the Director of Casino Operations at the Isle of Capri Casino, and without the technology enabling interactive classes at USM, students might never had had the opportunity to interview and question Cray. The students enrolled in Cray’s course were able to view a video lecture on table games before the first of his interactive question and answer session.
The online casino management students were particularly excited about how easy and informative they found Cray’s interactive class. One student even found a possible new career path after talking with Cray. Student Derek Chapman comments, "I go to the casinos frequently but I never considered it as a career until hearing Mr. Cray speak today."
And for those students who truly found the class engaging, that was just the beginning. Instructor Evelyn Green plans on 15 additional interviews with possible interactive follow-ups on those as well so the online casino management students have access to a representative sample of industry professionals.
