Online Casinos Add on Skill Gaming

The skill gaming industry is really increasing at a rapid rate, and sites offering a variety of skill games have reported substantial increases in player registration in the past year alone. Liberty Media just announced that the company in looking into purchasing even more than its already controlling interest in the skill gaming company FunTech.

Liberty Media is a company based out of Canada that is involved with electronic retailing, media communications, and entertainment. The entertainment section of the Liberty is why the group is interested in buying out the remaining Fun Technology shareholders. Liberty, not affiliated with the online casino industry, purchased the a 53 percent controlling interest in the company in 2005. Now though, the company has offered shareholders a generous offer to sell the remaining 47 percent of company shares. Cdn $3.50 for shares that are currently worth roughly $3.15.

Funtech has yet to come to a firm decision regarding Liberty’s current offer. Now that the skill gaming and online casinos gaming industries are taking off in many international markets, the sub-committee reviewing the offer will have a lot to consider. FunTech did confirm that a committee of independent directors will be established by the Board to review the offer.
