The Problem with Non-Transparent Online Casinos

As many online casino players are finding out this week, not all internet gambling sites are what they claim – even the ones operating on a trustworthy gaming platform. PlayShare recently acknowledged that it has allowed dozens of White Label online casinos to use its licensed Microgaming technology – without adequately informing players that it was operating as a White Label rather than an individually licensed online site.

Trust is a key part of the internet gambling industry and players often gamble at specific sites because they are honest, reputable, and established. One way that many players have chosen online casinos is through the software gaming platform – but now that White Label sites are popping up all over the Net, players are forced on the defensive.

One big issue about White Label sites concerns the management of the affiliated online casinos. Though PlayShare claims that it managed the White Label site content, it appears that those controls were not entirely effective. One of the White Label sites currently in question, Casino2See.com, had advertisements for sex sites. Now that players have voiced concerns, and specifically pointed to the site with inappropriate advertisements, the CEO at PlayShare announced that PlayShare has reacted quickly to the issue, and CEO Max Wright comments, "This will not occur again."

Another issue comes in the transparency of the site. Players want to know exactly what company is behind the online casino. The White Label sites previously did not readily admit to operating as a White Label. Wright has now stressed that this issue as well is being addressed by PlayShare. He notes, “We are going to make this information such as payment processing far more accessible and more obvious to the player.”

And as for the loopholes concerning bonus offers, Wright comments, “We are going to make this easier for the player to spot as not every player actually reads the terms and conditions before playing. The player will only be affected with regards to the opening offer and all future offers will not be affected as every account is treated separately."
