Full Steam Ahead

Though the Full Tilt online casino poker site pulled its support of the Moscow Millions Tournament in Russia later this year, the tournament will go on. The only concession to the fact that Moscow Millions lost a major tournament funder was rescheduling the event to take place a full month later. The added time will give online casinos and land-based poker groups a chance to offer more qualifying events, in addition to the additional time required to find appropriate funding.

Full Tilt initially signed up to be extensively involved in the first annual Moscow Millions Poker Tournament – the online casino poker site was sponsoring the event. But then a few weeks back, Full Tilt announced that though it would still have a small presence at the event, the company was backing out of full sponsorship because of a full tournament schedule this fall. Additionally, the online casino poker site still plans to send one lucky internet gambler to the MM tourney.

A spokesperson for the MM tournament commented that though the online casinos poker site has backed out, the success of the Moscow Millions has not been planned solely dependent on it." And to that end, the support of the Russian Sport Poker Federation should drum up a significant amount of support for the MM. President at the Federation, Dmitry Lesnoy, comments, "The Federation is proud to bring such an official status to the game in this country, and to share this with all people across the world fond of poker.

The event will take place November 24-26, 2007 in Moscow. The poker tournament boasts a US $1.5 million prize pool with a $10,000 buy-in.
