Online Casinos Cater to Women

The online casino industry certainly has no specific gender stereotype, but this is increasingly not the same in the internet poker industry. Poker has long been considered a mans game – and even though there are a significant number of women poker players, the industry is still male dominated. But PartyPoker and other online casino gambling sites are beginning to offer women poker tournaments and other incentives to encourage more women poker players to compete against the men.

PartyPoker just crowned the first Party Poker World Open Champion last week, Beverly Pace. PartyPoker consistently offers a variety of online casino poker tournaments, and incentives to drive new players to the site. The World Open Champion, Pace, notes that the Party Poker tournament is great because it encourages women to enter high-purse tournaments that are just as competitive as the dual-gender tournaments, but perhaps less intimidating. In that way the online casino site is encouraging new players, and also giving the women poker professionals a new chance to hone skills.

Pace is well-known in the live and online casino poker industries along with her husband, Norman Pace – also an established poker player. The runner-up, Jen Mason, is also an established name in poker, and Pace notes it was a close win that got her the game. Pace comments on Mason, "I have huge respect for her, and she has taught me a lot on the circuit. Perhaps she didn't do herself any favours as I have picked up a lot about how she plays!” Pace took home $50,000 along with her new title, and now she “intends to give [herself] a bankroll to play more tournaments for bigger stakes in the near future.” Pace has competed in some of the top live and online casino poker games in the international industry, including the WSOP, and the Aussie Millions; she has even placed in several of her previous tournaments, but notes that this is her “first big win.”
