Online Casino Gambling ---Casino NewsMore Tactics to Eliminate Online Gambling The government’s latest tactics to ensure that United States citizens do not gamble at online casinos doesn’t seem to be very effective…in fact, some find it laughable. The government has enacted various legislation to stop Americans from online casino gambling over the past couple of years (land-based casino gambling is still permitted) the most notable being the Safe Port Act. But now that some federal officials are linking internet gambling with terrorism, many think they are reaching just a bit to far.
And the government officials are not just in the speculation phase, they have actually retained one of the nation’s top prosecutors to begin prosecuting those Americans participating in online casino gambling. Prosecutor David Litterick is well known for his work prosecuting terrorists, and now that the FBI and other officials are claiming that the online gambling industry is merely a way to launder money to terrorist groups, Litterick will switch his focus into the world of online casino gambling.
Some of the more recent tactics the government uses don’t amount to much more than scare tactics. As a part of the US Patriot Act, the government is now enforcing the part of the act that requires all casinos prove they have money laundering programs operating in their establishments. But that doesn’t entirely address the internet casino gambling issues… online casinos operate under a different set of rules—that’s where the scare tactics come into play.
The government is now thoroughly investigating many online casinos to make sure that these businesses have not accepted monies from US citizens online. Now that the government is subpoenaing these business, many are running for cover—which will make tracking their online gambling much harder to regulate. Then the problem crops up that once the entire industry is “underground,” the government completely loses the ability to monitor and regulate. | ||||||||||||||||||
